I left Hawaii April 7, 1965 and went to Co. E Marine Support Bn. at Kamiseya Japan until 23 Jun 1968. During that time, 6 April _ 18 July 1966 I went TAD to 1st Radio Bn. in Viet Nam and served as the DF chief. This was a very interesting experience from many perspectives. From Japan to 2nd. Rad. Bn. Camp Lejeune, NC from 26 July 1968 until Aug. 4, 1969. PCS orders to 1st Rad. Bn. in Viet Nam from Sept. 4, 1969 until May 11, 1970. Served as the communications Chief. Back to 2nd. Rad. Bn. from May 22, 1970 until June 21, 1976. During that period I was commissioned as an LDO 2nd Lt. and served as the OIC of Det. L in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba form July 28, 1972 until Oct.. 13, 1972. I also attended the Officers Basic Electronic Warfare course at Fort Devins MA from Feb. 4, 1973 until June 2, 1973. My final tour of duty was from June 26, 1976 until June 30, 1978 as the OIC of the 6th. Special Security Comm. team at Cherry Point, NC. I transferred to the Fleet Marine Corps Reserve June 30, 1978 after serving (good and bad) for 23 years, 2 months, and 10 days. Having left high school early I received my GED in the Corps. After approximately 20 years active duty I began taking college courses on base at night, noon hours and weekends. Upon retirement I attended school full time, first at Craven Community College in New Bern, NC, where I received an associate degree. Then on to East Carolina University in Greenville, NC where I received a bachelors degree in psychology and went on to receive a masters degree in clinical psychology at the same school. I began an internship at the Johnston County Mental Health and was hired by them when I finished. I worked there until 1986 when a partner and I opened a private psychological practice in Smithfield, NC I retired again Nov. 2, 2002. I love retirement, I don't think Joyce does. We are fortunate that all of our children live close, but not too close and the family is together often and get along very well. I should mention that the humanitarians I mentioned before have turned into excellent men which I have noticed since getting together again. Semper Fi, Bob Brewington
