USMC
– May 1961 to May 1965
After boot camp, I went to Pensacola for training. Next assignment was
to 2nd Radio Company at Camp Geiger. Four months later was sent to Adak
for a year. Final tour was in 1st Radio Company, Kaneohe from January
1964 to May 1965.
Upon being separated from the Corps, I obtained a position in a small
electronics firm where I was employed as an optical/electronic
technician.
I submitted my resume` to a government official in May of
1967 (the same time I was married), and was hired by the CIA as a
telecommunications officer in February 1968. I served three tours
overseas:
Three years in Costa Rica (where my son was born); Two years
in Senegal; A three year tour back in the states (when my daughter was
born); and a two year tour in
Rio de Janeiro
In 1979, I switched occupations to become a software developer. A year
later I was divorced.
Six years later, I married for a second time. About that same time I was
selected as manager of all the CIA’s computerized telecommunications
system. I remained in that position until retiring from the Agency in
1992, at which time I was awarded an Intelligence Commendation Medal for
my services throughout the years.
Upon retiring, I went to work as a software developer for a consulting
firm, where I worked until retiring in January, 2005.
My wife and I moved to a growing little burg where we are in close
proximity to our five kids & step-kids plus their 15 children
